Wasn't that a stinker? Probably the worst game they've played this playoffs. Just about every puck battle was lost, even minor set-up passes were missing the mark.

It was all downhill from this point onwards

I didn't grow up here and am not a Leafs fan, but it's hilarious to watch them find new ways to disappoint every year. And every year, the die hard fans still at some point are convinced they will finally be winning it all.

No matter how bad your day may be going, one can always reassure themself that at least they didn't drop $1k to watch the Leafs live in games like this.

Marchand remains the ultimate Leafs killer. The beer and jerseys thrown on the ice at the end says it all.

Matthews still dodgy about his health issues post-game. Asked "were you healthy in this series," his answer was [two second pause] "I don't know. I'm not really going to address that now."

Which, when the answer isn't simply "yes," it raises even more alarm bells.

Unfortunately Matthew's made of glass.

He is ALWAYS injured and never healthy. Every season has has an injury with his wrist.

They have strongly denied anything is wrong with his wrist. The whispers are he has some kind of systemic health issue, some kind of disease.
But they are only whispers from people trying to make sense of the situation, however the Leafs would not have gone on public record there are no issues with his wrist if there were, they would have obfuscated that too.

Give the defending Stanley Cup champions credit, too. The Panthers played extremely well in games 4, 5, and 7, and were the better team. Yes, it's disappointing that the Leafs couldn't elevate their game to game 6 levels again.

To say the Leafs are soft/crap/whatever fails to acknowledge that the Panthers were excellent

The Leafs remind me of the Raptors during the Derozan years, before they traded for Kawhi and won the title. Look great in the regular season but ultimately crumble and/or succumb to the common villain in the playoffs (LeBron and the Cavs for several years). Unfortunately for the Leafs, it's the Core Four that have been the figurative Derozan during this stretch.
