Makes a lot of sense to simply start with the gates and wait time. New (faster) ferries and TTC station gates at the terminal would probably make a big difference, as others have noted. I guess the ferry part is already in motion.

Also have payments with Presto and other cards as well would be a good idea as well.

Yeah, I think I only caught on when it was being used against progressives by alt-right folk.

But in the last couple years, after watching so called “progressive” people/biz suddenly get cover and back away from progressive causes- I’m like, nah- no more “feel good” patronizing shite. Money. Do the things with money if you mean it.

Can’t recall how much the Dundas switchover was costing, but they could have put that money and effort to better use here. Hell- they could have just put it into getting Ferry fares onto Presto. That’s not a capital cost or a permanent building but it would help a lot
The renaming of Dundas would have been better received if it had been tied into broader station upgrades. Like, no one is going to be excited about a new name for a station by itself. It becomes entirely political/cultural. If the TTC had been like, we're renaming Dundas Station to TMU Station as part of a broader plan that includes the second entrance and platform edge doors (which are apparently both things they are doing at this station so like, they could have done this!), it would have felt more justified because that would have been a huge overhaul. But a name change alone feels wasteful so people push back.

Similarly for Dundas West, they need to use the integration with Bloor GO as the reason to rename the entire complex to one name. But since the TTC and Metrolinx despise each other it won't happen and is gonna be another debacle. So we''ll get a renamed Dundas West that the right will declare to be "woke" (which has no meaning anymore anyway) and Metrolinx will keep calling it Bloor GO and to the average person it will be completely unclear this is one connected transit complex because this city cannot do anything related to transit correctly.

To bring this back to the Ferry Terminal, if we every actually get an entrance on the south side of Queens Quay (and arguably maybe even if we don't) we should just rename the station to Ferry Terminal since like, it's not exactly the only stop on Queen's Quay. The way we name stations is just stupid at this point and needs a complete rethink.

I have a lot of thoughts about station names, what can I say 😅
