I would have preferred they go with a sleeker, more modern look. We don't have oldtimey looking streetcars either.

I wish we did. I prefer the T1 subway look over the rockets as well. The rivets and horizontal lines on subway car siding added a lot of character.

I mean, if they could have done low floor streetcars with the cream and maroon PCC look, that would have been great...
 
I have no idea what "old timey" design theyre referring to...these look fine, and they're nit meant to look like works of art.
Heck, these ferries are far higher capacitu than the examples shown, and are open to the elements which is nicer for the breeze that comes off the lake.

The contemporary look of making everything look ergonomic and shaped like a computer mouse is pretty ugly, but, again those are smaller watercraft. It'll be a world of change having these new ferries.
