For our entertainment sake [watching super-tall construction] I hope it does at least break-even for them as the second tower will need to be priced quite a bit higher, and people paying $2M+ on a condo usually want a view in addition to location.
Location? A hollow stretch of false prestige. Pay that price, and you’re not just buying property—you’re paying for your own delusion.

I considered responding to the above conversations surrounding the role of "greedy investors" in the market, but it is probably better that I not get involved. Instead, here are some photos I took of Forma under construction after lunch yesterday (this time, I had ramen but did not take photos of my meal)

Let their ruin be your reward

... The prices are ranging around 1000-1200 a foot and we are obviously very underwater. Our agent won’t really respond to anything I say so I had to speak to this one agent who specializes in assignments because I thought maybe I could assign it with the free assignment clause and he sort of laughed and said something along the lines of “get in line”. ...

I'm sorry you got over-sold. That said, it is still a Ghery and there will be substantial international press as it finishes. Assignment 6 months prior to close, likely to someone outside of Canada, may be your best bet. IMO, find an agent for assignment with strong connections in the Middle East or Singapore; people who will pay a large premium to own a small remarkable pied-a-terr rather than book a hotel room; advertise your listing in those locations rather than the GTA.

The foreign buyer ban expires Jan 1st, 2027.

This feels like a real estate discussion for this underutilized thread:

...not sure the units will become any cheaper when posting grievances about it there, but still ...go knock yourselves out with that.

I didn’t buy anything, lol. If I were that stupid, I would’ve held a grenade to my face and pulled the pin.
Wait, the quoted text isn't from reddit? See, the quotes suggest it may be someone elses experience/testimony....I'm a titch lost here.
You are correct.

Nah, I'm just pointing out how badly the units are designed. I couldn’t care less how much money people are going to lose.

I think there was some discussion earlier about that reddit post, either in this thread or a more general thread. That layout is hilarious. The unit is like 60% hallway. At least if you had a kid, there'd be plenty of space to park the stroller :)

Wait, dumb question....is this one thats under construction the taller of the 2 buildings, or the shorter one? Because I thought that the shorter one didnt rotate until much higher up....

Did Gehry have any input on the layouts of individual units? I know the developer decided the number of units per floor, the mix of units, etc, but having set all those specs, did the architect have any say? My guess is no, but does that mean the 'design by Gehry' is limited to the building's exterior and maybe lobby?
