I don't want to encourage anyone to mildly profit or lose off this information... but for Line 6 Finch West which is rumoured to be starting RSD on September 20th:

Since Eglinton RSD has not even started... I think November 1st looks to be nearly impossible for Line 5 Eglinton

While possible, its unlikely that either Finch or Crosstown will launch mid-Board.
The November Board period for TTC begins Nov 16th and runs to Dec 20th.
I expect at least one of the two lines will launch for that date.

So Line 6 will open before Line 5 even though Line 6 started construction in 2019, 8 years later than Line 5 and 1 year before it was supposed to open lol

Heard through the grapevines Eglinton LRT will not open in 2025 and the new target is Q1 - 2026 (not sure how accurate - seems pretty reliable however - so take it with a grain of salt)

If crosstown was getting close, like finch we would be hearing about revenue service by now.
Perhaps as metrolinxs CEO suggested they might do a soft launch first, but i personally doubt our politicians would approve it.
Personally where I in charge of the thing I might soft open the surface section while continuing to work on the rest. The surface section is afterall a street car.

I think opening only the surface section would overwhelm feeder bus capacity at Don Mills/Eglinton, where incidentally Metrolinx has decided to demolish the new bus terminal without opening it, so I don't think that's a good idea.

I am surprised this does not hit Ford's popularity more. Perhaps people in interested in the Eglinton Cross Town are already not Ford voters - but it is a really pretty bad example of government competence. If I was a provincial Liberal I would be beating him up more over it - thought I guess they have their own problems to focus on right now.
