Doors stuck open?I wonder if some of them will be open for Doors Open Toronto?

Now that the stations contracts are signed for the SSE, I'm hoping they can start digging at Scarborough centre shortly, and if they start digging at Lawrence East there is plenty of time to spare. They have no rights to blame them when they copied their procurement and construction process.
This tunnel first and excavate the station later plan is designed to be a decade long. TTC subway never took this long as they tunnel and excavate at the same time. Now just watch the Scarborough subway extension become their failure.
This cheap tunneling idea is claimed to reduce disruption during tunneling but extends the duration of disruption when evacuation takes so long. They should really go back to the old way and just buy 3 TBMs for Scarborough. Once tunneling is done they would have converted the launch shaft into a station. The digging would have been done always.
I just chimed into that thread too but they also took these signs down at the Mount Dennis station earlier this week for some reason. I will try get some pics the next time I walk by.
Man, I'm annoyed by this inconsistency!Just following up on this...it looks like new signage has been installed at Mount Dennis...the only changes I can note from the original signs are the GO and UP logos beside the train image

Crosslinx and their signage subcontractor still have control over the project. Contractually Metrolinx has no say until the project is handed over.FFS, they're still going by the old signage standard, instead of doing things properly!!

That dashed my hopes for Don Valley.
So we're now on our fourth iteration of Metrolinx station/stop pylons...
... all before either Lines 5 or 6 have opened.
Speaking of which, Kennedy's ones have been taken out for a while now. Looks to be just the light strips.Just following up on this...it looks like new signage has been installed at Mount Dennis...the only changes I can note from the original signs are the GO and UP logos beside the train image

It's a pricey game of horseshoes. And I would argue, it's a case of sanity slowly prevailing. The TTC logo is probably the single most brand recognised logo in the city. Making it prominent, and downsizing that silly T that some high priced consultant flogged to ML novices who hadn't been around long enough to know better..... is very much a good thing.
