What is happening?
• Crews working on behalf of Metrolinx will begin construction of the structural support for the
elevated guideway of the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension.
• Work will take place at the intersection of Emmett Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West
• This work consists of building the deck, a key element of the future elevated guideway
bridge.
What to expect
• The eastbound left turning lane towards Emmett Avenue on Eglinton Avenue West will be
temporarily closed during the duration of this work.
• Public vehicle access Emmett Avenue from Eglinton Avenue West will be closed during the
work period. Vehicle access at the Emmet Avenue intersection will be re-opened at 5:00 a.m.
until 9:00 p.m.
• Clear signage for the proposed alternative route (as shown in the second map above) to
access Emmett Avenue from Jane Street will be displayed.
• TTC servicing bus-stop ID 2425 will be impacted during work hours from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00
a.m.
• Flaggers will be employed as needed to keep vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians moving
safely.
• Sections of the sidewalks on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West will remain closed
during this work.
• The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West will remain open.
• Nearby residents can expect to experience noise, vibration and dust associated with general
construction activities and equipment. Crews will be monitoring the activity and will take
steps to mitigate vibration, noise and dust where possible.
• Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen
circumstances. Weekend work may be required as needed.
• Work is subject to permit approval from the City of Toronto.
