Adding to the watch-list, as this new Recreation Centre will be within the catchment-area of the large Housing Now developments of the south-side of Don Mills Crossing.

Received the below update through the grape veins.

Timeline is as follows:
  • Q2 2026: Hire a construction team
  • Q2 2026 - Construction Readiness (Procurement process commences)
  • Q3 2026 - RFQ Issued
  • Q4 2026 - RFP Issued
  • Fall 2026: Proponent Selected & Construction starts
  • Fall 2029: Construction complete, Community Recreation Centre opens
Another issue is that in order for construction to commence the convenance from Aspen Ridge to the City needs to be completed which still has been done in over 8-9 years since council approved this project.

Let's see whether the city gets it right here and actually gets the project going. I doubt it.
