Residences at Owens launch I believe was back in 2022 and has just been slow selling so it is a project that was planned before the market crunch
I purchased mine in Sep.2020 and got occupancy in this March , and yes their plan was to have a twin buildings , but in this real state market we see any new projects can be a big risk.
 
I don't foresee any new projects launching but I can still see the possibility of other projects that have been launched meeting their financing goals and being able to begin construction I just don't think we are going to get any fancy new buildings proposed for the next 3 years may just be a case of what has been launched coming to your fruition or getting reworked

Wondering if they're going to start cleaning up the footprint of the other Tower so as it doesn't become an eyesore while they are waiting for the market too build up for the second one
They’ve had all the time in the world to start building it, or clean it up, idk why they haven’t. Wouldn’t it have just made sense to employ 2 crews with 2 separate cranes so that the towers would both be done? Even if they are unsure.
 
The thing is from what I know Barrie's condo market is pretty saturated and the city also prefers SFH so they probably didn't have the sales to start the second tower here's hoping it just doesn't sit as a construction yard for next 5 years

That's all right, also this is the situation of housing market everywhere in Canada. "Market is Saturated"
 
Part 2, the current tower.

The brick precast and black (aluminum?) panels look decent. The white trim is okay-ish. But the grey is bleh.

My photos don't convey it, but the black panels look better in person, while the white precast looked too bright and sort of cheap in the sunlight.

The six storeys of above grade parking is also bleh.

No, the design they used here at grade level has been proven to kill street life, small scale retail, vibrancy etc. The jury is not out on this one.
