you would see a lot less double height retail spaces if the City stopped requiring 6 metre clear ceiling heights for loading spaces and 4.5 metre high clear heights for retail.
Despite how it looks, there's considerable pedestrian activity to the immediate east and south (opposite direction of what's shown here). This building will expand the zone of activity and contribute to the growing critical mass of streetlife.

This shop demonstrates the vast gulf between the desire for human-scaled street detail and coziness and developer/architects' addiction to bland, double-height ground floors and massive, generic panes of dull glass.

Could a nice awning help solve that a bit? This shop demonstrates the vast gulf between the desire for human-scaled street detail and coziness and developer/architects' addiction to bland, double-height ground floors and massive, generic panes of dull glass.
I don’t imagine any of these other retail spaces are set up for a deep fryer are they? (Ventilation/fire)
Don’t care if it’s a Popeyes or A&W, hell, I’d take a Tim’s I guess- just something resembling a sandwich for under $10 thx.
I was scanning the Mandy’s menu on Uber Eats and I think at best I’m ordering off the kids menu ($9.50 for a salad). Can the coffee drinkers tell me if $14 smoothies are comparable to a daily coffee spend?
If we can’t get cheap eats I wouldn’t mind the Life Labs jumping the gun while Cherry Place is built. Passport office, Service Ontario.
Mandy's is opened and it is busy. Much smaller space than I thought it would be...

That is wild
Someone shared an image not too long ago and it looks like a lot are being rented out. Unless someone wants to correct me. I'm not seeing much activity though.Just needs those retail spaces to get rented ASAP
