I have no doubt that both will go before long. The land they are on is now worth FAR more than their rents bring in.

Full-on excavation and shoring at the southwest corner. Didn’t realize how wide the laneway will be between this and the Mill St buildings — 3 or 4 times the width of an alley:

The space between this and the buildings on Mill is actually set to become a new road, if I am not mistaken.

Volvo is building a new dealership along Bayview near Audi, so you can anticipate that going eventually. I doubt the Acura is going anywhere soon, since that building is fairly new, but it will be surrounded by the long-term care centre and 28 Eastern, so it doesn't bother me so much. The Jeep dealership, I agree, would be great to redevelop to complete Front Street.

Looks like one of the last major inner city parking lots will bite the dust. This and the demise of the 400 Front lot will go a long way in making the downtown feel truly urban.

There's still the pesky surface lot at Church and Bloor. It's not as massive as this site, of course, but annoying nonetheless.
