What impact would this have to the rest of the island ? Less maybe re-routing fairy paths ?

The Corleck is ‘soft opening’ this week with the launch of the Canada Ireland Foundation’s Bealtaine Festival, and inclusion of the Corleck in this weekend’s Doors Open program. Note the ‘soft’ part of the open is limited to the new theatre, as renovations continue on the rest of the building.

Tremendous congrats are due to William Peat (seen below in 2021 and at this week’s dress rehearsal for Chicken), the Canada Ireland Foundation’s Executive Director, who has been instrumental in opening this new cultural centre.

And a six-week food festival is coming to Bathurst Quay Common’s event plaza for the duration of FIFA, alongside a projection festival on the silos. Am delighted to see the shared vision for the Corleck and the Common coming to fruition this summer as they animate this important public waterfront property.

Another great post, hope you get back to posting more often. CreateTO have lots of projects!

View attachment 738608I am hoping one of the future next phases of the waterfront area includes some sort of redevelopment of the area I outlined in red.

Those lots west of Stadium Road Park are actively used by the yacht clubs. Parking for members in the summer and boat storage in the winter. Good luck prying it away from the sailors!

The lot to the east should be converted to parkland, of course.

I wouldn't say prying it away; I'd say a developer or whoever should work with all parties to see the best redevelopment of these lots into something other than what they are now. Parking should be put underground, and an entirely new park, yacht club, etc., should be rebuilt on top.
