I expected more for a building like this. It's these details that takes a "legendary" build to a "great" built. They didn't need a revamped design system to do better.

Disappointing. I bet you won't see this at King Toronto.

The King doesn't have a City of Toronto Community Centre in any case for this scenario to occur..

I was going to say - it's definitely not, well, good, but I'm also not really losing sleep over it.

It does constitute an effective strategy: produce so many design fails that the public are too exhausted to call them out. On a more serious note, Toronto will never be beautiful until the City are forced to re-think sidewalk design, lamp posts, traffic lights, signs, etc. Functionality and cost seem to be their only consideration. Everything they put out is primitive and ugly.

The problem with something not deemed a priority is that it never gets addressed. We'll be stuck with them putting out garbage for decades to come.

one of the best builds in the city, but the surrounding area has a long way to go. going to be construction hell for at least a decade with all the quayside stuff then the LRT if that ever happens.

Also does anyone know what happened to the trees along this part of the waterfront? almost half are dead or dying, really sad. Many are marked to be cut down

There ARE some dead trees along the waterfront promenade between Jarvis (Sugar Beach) and Aqualuna but the vast majority look pretty health to me. ('Almost half' are certainly neither dead nor dying). Last year there were more with some kind of fungus but they seem to have sprung back. @Northern Light may have some light to spread?
