This one is turning out quite well I think. Amazing what limiting balconies does for a building 😉
Yes, thank goodness Aqualuna also has limited balconies!

Of course there are exceptions, Aqualuna being an extreme example. I would go so far as to say it is the balconies that make that building. Other examples include King Toronto, Toronto House, and The Whitfield, but by and large, balconies have been terribly done in our fair city.

Yup, it's the poor execution of balconies that is bad for buildings, but they can add too when done well! The Majority are lazy though...

I would agree with most on the sentiment RE: the brick - it is looking really good and well executed

The tower is an atrocity in my opinion. The black metal panels do not mesh well with the grey/taupe/minty/toilet blue (or whatever colour that is) spandrel

Just looking at the renderings and there should be lots more gold near the top.

I think Teeple is my favorite local architect. Their projects have varied materials and they try to incorporate colour or unique design elements. It doesnt always work out, (Nobu), but I think cheap developers are usually to blame.

Picasso is still one of the most striking condos downtown and this one is shaping up nicely.

No gold. Black.

Unfortunately the tower glass isn’t dark enough and the gold accent frames aren’t gold enough, so we won’t get this level of contrast. It won’t read as high contrast and the render suggests.if the colour contrast matched the render it would’ve looked a lot more impactful.

Yeah...too much cheap grey to throw everything off here.

It’s obviously better than Daniel’s on the Waterfront City of the Arts, but it honestly reminds me of that. Tons of attention paid to the first five stories, looks amazing, and then the tower portion is an utter mess. Nothing is as bad as Daniel’s, but this looks.. not good.
