Interesting.
I had been wondering if this project would come to life as some of Concord's other projects closed in on completion.

I feel like Toronto needs more set back laws for larger towers, similar to policy which led to the wedding cake towers that are so common in NYC. The entertainment district has become like a series of canyons because of these block towers.

If they want to build a tower here, it should be smooth, cylindrical, brass coloured and all pimped out...with no expenses spared in the materials, nor any cheapening. And something that the likes of Mr. Towered could slide gracefully all the way down from the top of it without ever being chaffed in the process, IMO... <3

reviewing it, I agree with staff's conclusions here, rather unusually.. This has a 0m tower setback from the south and I don't see why that works with an active landowner to the south with a larger site. It shouldn't be on that landowner to provide 100% of the tower separation.

The block context plan submitted assumes a substandard tower floorplate for the landowner to the south to accommodate the tower separation, which means that landowner is paying for this landowner's tower separation. It's not an appropriate relationship without this landowner paying them for it.. and it sounds like they aren't doing that here judging by the letter of opposition submitted.
