I honestly thought that was the one they were going to useI liked the stone blocks render.
I'm assuming that was "value engineered" out of the equation but who knows.

I often feel the same...I'd feel a little uneasy if I lived in that house which is basically giving the new construction a lap dance.
I've spoken to a person that lives there and they were actually in support of this project which is a surprise. I'm pretty sure they rent though, and I'm pretty sure the owner didn't support the project of course.... Because of reasons?I'd feel a little uneasy if I lived in that house which is basically giving the new construction a lap dance.
I'm just talking from a safety perspective during construction. Heavy equipment carrying heavy materials hovering right next to you above your house... would be like having concrete/steel jump off top ropes resulting in a permanent 3-count.I've spoken to a person that lives there and they were actually in support of this project which is a surprise. Oh absolutely. I wouldn't want to move right beside this while it was under construction. After would be no problem, but during would how dlty worry me. I'm sure they are following all the safety protocol. I've seen Steve and Core Urban staff onsite multiple times so they're keeping an eye on things I know. I don't think Ontario has had a major construction failure in recent memory, so I imagine it's pretty safe in reality.I'm just talking from a safety perspective during construction. The prior structure was touching I believe, so no real difference. There are no windows as a result. As for the eaves, it can be done. These older neighbourhoods have all kinds of weird eaves. Mine overhang the neighbouring property by 1'. When I need to clean them out I need to access their yard. When it's done, there's going to be barely enough room for someone to walk between the two structures.
What happens when they want to clean their eavesdrops on that side from their ladder? Have to climb the roof on the other side, and then shimmy down from the peak - hoping not to fall off and land in between the buildings where someone will only notice your body due to the stench of death?
If there are windows on that side, enjoy the total darkness and lack of circulated air.
