The Shoppers drug mart + freshco are closing down soon.

Do you have any tentative dates?

I find a an imminent closure here odd.....

In that:

1) NOAC has not been issued yet.

2) No permits for new build or demo are in process

3) It would be unreasonable to the area to deprive it of both area supermarkets at the same time. Loblaws is closed from May I believe to October'ish...

So Freshco stands to get a good chunk of business if they operate during that closure.

Can't believe the stripped the colour from it for no reason RIGHT at the very end. No reason given too. Bullshit.

Agreed.

Agreed.
Mixed up Frescho with Loblaws is closing around May 1st. End of May for the Shopper's.

It's interesting how further up the street you have developers that are actually trying with midrise projects like Junction Point, Junction House, DuKe, and the Sierra building designed by Gabriel Fain U/C right now. Whereas close to Dundas West station we have generic schlock like this and the Lormel rental tower.

In fairness "we tried" but looks like they didn't want something nice and to stand out.
Would have been a nice, "where do you live? I live in the Red one." conversation.

Considering it’s still in the planning stages. I recommend writing to Perk’s office about it. I sure did. Complaining about buildings’ appearances during the planning process actually works.

... End of May for the Shopper's.
link
... nearby Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 2440 Dundas St. W. was to close at the end of May, this plan appears to have changed.
On May 7 ... signs posted that said the store will remain open until 2027.
According to two store employees ... once the location shutters, a new location will open next to the former site of the Loblaws.

SPA resubmission with stat changes for Phase 1 - which remains 37 storeys - however the total unit count dropped from 437 to 406, and affordable unit count dropped from 67 to 11. Minor changes to parking counts and GFA distribution.

Demolition permit still pending for the 2-storey commercial structure at 2440 Dundas St W

I always thought it was just 11-units here..?
Based on this 2024 Decision Report - Approval Recommended to the next meeting of TEYCC:

They might have offered more - but only if the project was approved for one of the additional City incentive programs -

The PBR Incentives for market units are currently CLOSED, as the City has spent all of those funds in Summer 2026...
