There is much worth critiquing within the realm of development in Hamilton... and I have certainly have many critiques... but it is worth noting that 11 years ago, none of the high-rises in this next photo (save for the sliver of the apartment slab at right) existed:

Yep. much of that whole block was parking! It's gone from being one of the least dense blocks in the city to probably Hamilton's most dense, in terms of both residential units and buildings. Still at least another tower to go too (the second Mac residence, whenever that may happen now).
