Most of those circled areas are built out or are currently building out. Land was serviced the last couple of years. Area to the west of Ray Gibbons is being developed. Not in the photo but just to the lower right corner is a new subdivision. Cheriot.

Ill get some photos during my ride on Saturday.

One thing we are seeing now in St Al is the amount of multi story rental units. Almost never saw anything more that 3 stories. Now lots of 5-6 and some with +10.

The St. Albert slab is about as wide of those Russian examples. Slabs create barriers to either side.

The fact they’re building such a large concrete highrise in a greenfield area of St Albert seems wild to me - they just be expecting some hefty rents in their proforma to justify the high construction cost/sq ft compared to stick-frame.

There’s plans to build two more at 16 storeys just to the west of it as well.
 
Walls/windows/curtain wall aren’t even up yet…..might surprise you….
Can't quite follow your point. Currently a see-through great wall, a fully-enclosed elevation will somehow be less of a great wall?
