Has anyone seen any action on street cleaning, sweeping, sidewalk grit removal or anything of the like Downtown? I've see it at the Leg, but that's about it.
Walked along 104th from down the hill to Jasper and it looks like garbage, including some literal garbage liberally strewn about. Is there any pressure or expectations on business owners to sweep the front of their storefronts? The Red Arrow station looks like something exploded there.

^ It would be great if the operations team could have that messaging added to the website as a header note. As downtown contains a fair amount of residential, it would be better still if that was represented within the application itself too.

Ice District/104th Ave area was swept and general pretty tidy except for the guy that was about to start “cooking” in the stairwell of the HSBC parkade, upon which me and my wife “fentanyl shamed” - is that a thing? I like it, I’m going to coin it. him along with pissing his pants right there too!

Something along the lines of, “get out of our way - taxpayers coming through. Why don’t you get a job like everyone else? Look what you just did? You pissed yourself, now clean it up! If you’re gonna do it, make sure you go all the way this time!”

Btw, the Capilano area’s boulevards were swept

I feel a lot of Ian’s angst or anyone that frequents DT that one of those sidewalk cleaners would come in real handy. I thought we had one? Just imagine, all the sidewalks DT would be swept and we wouldn’t have to wait for lazy or remote building owners/operators hose it off once a year

Digging out of a massive snow storm 2 weeks ago and you're complaining that downtown isn't clean yet?

The goalposts are moving too quickly for me to keep up.
Exactly.

Timing was pushed back because for that exact reason.

It'll happen Ian. Not worth sweeping if some of those streets still have snow melting on them.

True true, but let’s all call ourselves “Advocates of Street Sweeping.” That way we can be so called experts and have our names in articles whenever they need an “advocate” to speak on street sweeping behalf!

It's awful out there right now with the wind and literally nothing Downtown looks touched... let alone TransEd and LRT stops.

It's out climate and this time of the year. A week ago our foot+ of fresh snowfall was still in the midst of melting. Just need to relax and give it time, sweeping starting early-mid April seems much earlier than previous years, so I have no complaints there.
