Tried to get down to look and even the upper trail lookout is closed. It is going to be a good-looking bridge though. Saw the design at my last firm.
That should be a priority. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Zd3iU1SPZdTQmtUo9A bridge from the Windermere area to Big Island is the only other one I can think of if the province is still keen on turning Big Island into a provincial park. Maybe one from Belgravia to the Valley Zoo?
It's one thing if they're trying to limit access to keep it safe, but all the visual barriers they've put in on both sides of the river have been interesting. Maybe a bike ride as far up as possible on the river valley trail?Tried to get down to look and even the upper trail lookout is closed. It is going to be a good-looking bridge though. Ive tried. Once you get to the north end of Quarry ridge lower trail you have to step off the trail and hike through to bush to get a look. Again from the north the upper trail is closed right at 153 ave. It's one thing if they're trying to limit access to keep it safe, but all the visual barriers they've put in on both sides of the river have been interesting. This is typically temporary to allow construction of the piers in the water. It should be removed near the end when construction is almost finished.Took advantage of my new to me eBike for that long in and out ride, which in reality was only 4km longer than looping back on 167 Ave. It's looking good so far and likely on schedule for the Fall 2025 opening. I wonder if that narrowing of the river channel is permanent though with the rip rap and how that might affect spring melt river flow.

The typos in your post make this quite entertaining, especially the "blue" comment "This will add another 50 kms of tail access" and makes the follow-up comment "can't wait to do a ride from St. Albert to Elk Island" seem a little braggadocios considering the time and distance factors. Excellent work @Airboy! (There has to be a movie deal buried in here).wow they got a lot done last fall. looks like mostly paving trains next summer. So looking forward to some epic rides. This will add another 50 kms of tail access. .and can't wait to do a ride from St Albert to Elk Island now. pretty much a straight shot.
it is what happens when I use my phone to write. And Happy to entertain. As for the ride distance it's quite doable. distance would be under 160 kms. I've done a century in 6 hours. The typos in your post make this quite entertaining, especially the "blue" comment "This will add another 50 kms of tail access" and makes the follow-up comment "can't wait to do a ride from St. Albert to Elk Island" seem a little braggadocios considering the time and distance factors. cannot wait to ride it. i've missed the quarry pathThey’ve resumed working on the footbridge for the season. A lot of the remaining work is likely on the approaches with some finishing and fixturing work on the bridge itself.

I've essentially doubled back, it's only an extra 3km. I used to loop back lots but riding 400m on Meridian St is unpleasant. Hopefully road upgrades and a MUP are coming when Quarry Vista is built.cannot wait to ride it. i've missed the quarry path
