...looking at the glass half full though, Mamdani last reported has 50.4 percent of the popular translating to over million votes:
I was flipping through to
News12 Brooklyn last night when the polls were being counted. Someone at Cuomo's election night HQ went on a rant about Sliwa costing Cuomo the election (forget that Eric Adams was still stupidly on the ballot and able to pick up over 6000 votes, FFS), and bringing "communism" to NYC to doom them all—ignoring the fact that Mamdani was already holding a majority.
And his victory shout out to Cuomo was a brutal evisceration:
Mamdani: "I wish Andrew Cuomo only the best in private life but let tonight be the final time I utter his name."

Only fair, given that despite meekly chastising his own crowd from booing Mamdani, he threw in a whole lot of insinuation in his:
"We are a nation of laws, and
we believe in law and order, and we need the police to keep society safe. We will not make the NYPD the enemy. We cherish, we cherish our diversity. And we have no tolerance for discrimination of any kind by race, religion, sexual orientation, or creed,
and we will not tolerate any behavior that fans the flames of anti-Semitism or diverse attacks. "
It showed me the Dems have been playing Republican-lite for way too long, and that progressive Candidates don't need the backing of the gerontocracy above them (if they need the party at all). If the Democrats don't take this wake-up call soon, the party's gonna die in its sleep.
