Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul endorsed Mamdani, as has Letitia James, Attorney General of New York who was recently indicted by the Trump admin. But Schumer and Jefferies refuse to.

General issue with Western politics is that the older generations have no incentive to step aside and instead roadblack younger generations from entering. Good indication of the health of a political structure is the average age of its representatives.

Mamdani also didn't publicly endorse Kamala during last years Election. There's probably some hard feelings regarding that.
