Though it would be relief to find out that this is closer to an attack by the right, one something being too far left, than a migrant or Democrat shooting someone on the far-right.

Saw it mentioned on Twitter but someone was going in detail about how the US security apparatus really isn't ready or prepared for what groups like groypers are capable of if they ever dare leave their rooms. This week was a decent example of that, both in Kirk's assassination but also in the inability of authorities to do much of anything competently in response. The fact that the administration has stripped most agencies of any sort of power will simply make things worse, which is their intent.

Ling does well here because this is exactly his ballpark.

Not only that, but the directive of what's left of those agencies are now focused on immigration matters and "instigation" from the left. It's like they opened the back door of the club, hung a neon arrow over it, then proceeded to put all their security at the front. It has the chance to overrun them and play them like a fiddle. In the meantime, alt-right nationalist groups have spent the last decade putting their own folks in power positions as much as possible, from school trustees all the way up to whomever Stephen Miller tells Trump he should hire next.

Ling does well here because this is exactly his ballpark.

It's clear though that traditional news organizations are eschewing investigative journalism (especially about stuff happening on the right) these days. Gutting newsrooms at a time when it's needed the most.
