Toronto Island at 10:30 last night. Almost a full moon (99.2%) which was partially covered by clouds but still provided a nice light effect on the water across the bay and lake to Niagara. Most southernly rising moon in 18 years but so was May and June, so who knows for sure.
Something one doesn't see every day. The cruise ship Viking Octantis in the inner harbour awaiting it's sister ship, the Viking Polaris, to leave port so it can dock there. In one photo other various vessels can be seen as well on a hazy smoke-filled evening yesterday including the Island ferry, Tall Ship Kajama and Showboat. Shot from my balcony in the Distillery.
I'm born and raised in Toronto, and yesterday was my first time visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame at Yonge / Front (Brookfield Place). Wow ! If you have never been, nor are a diehard hockey fan ... it is a must. The architecture (exterior and interior) is superbly restored, especially the stained glass dome and Lord Stanley Vault (it was originally a bank branch). Ontop, a Presto card gets you 20% off admit. One of Toronto's hidden gems !
