Especially since that's garbage pizza anyway! Why do people go there?
People’s hatred for PP online makes you wonder how they survive in business - brings to mind Yogi Berra’s “nobody goes there, it’s too crowded”.

Aside from their chicken nuggets and potato wedges being surprisingly solid, I suspect they build a following by being a staple of many a hard pressed school lunch program, like at my kid’s school every Friday

My son's school uses Pizza Nova for their pizza days, which isn't much better.

Far worse, IMO...

Pfft. For slices? Pizza Nova's crust is better, so is its sauce, and it uses better pepperoni.

Now is it great? Absolutely not. But it is a level up from Pizza Pizza, the maker of cardboard with bland ketchup.

****

On slices, for chains, no one touches Pizzaiolo. (among the chains)

On full pizzas they also have an edge among majors, because they have fresh garlic, which you can add for free, giving the sauce some zing.

The only thing w/them if they are a bit cheap on the cheese for a premium price point provider, among the majors. So you end up needing to order 'extra cheese' to get the best product.

Their success is easy to explain, other than just people having bad taste.......

1) Cheap They are generally the market leader for low price

2) Ubiquitous and high visibility real estate. Their real estate people were sharp in grabbing up so many former bank branches at major intersections in the 90s/early 00s. Their colour scheme, while garish, certainly is/was attention getting, and you knew they were around.

3) Easy to remember phone number.

My first job used Pizza Nova for every event so I had way too much of it and find it inedible now. Pizza Pizza just reminds me of school pizza days so the 1 time every 2-3 years I have to ingest it, it brings back some fond, if deeply ossified, memories.

Took me until part way through the second sentence to make me realize this is about Pizza Pizza 😵‍💫
