the real question is where on kipling are they talking about? kipling north of eglinton? south? both?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Kipling station

that would be the most disappointing outcome possible if they just linked it up with milton line

it's like a loop, but ignoring south etobicoke entirely

there's a spur that links lakeshore to milton line just west of kipling that really should be used for passenger service (with lots of modification of course)

Gonna be honest, pretty sure the reason the link to Kipling wasn’t shown is because:

A) they don’t want to publically contradict the City, whom wants it to Bloor-Dundas West, and

B) Exhibition-Kipling is actually achievable in the near term, so paradoxically they need to actually figure out what that would look like. There’s a lot of viable routes and political ‘incentives’ to consider when Fords at home field.

So, it was omitted out of convenience. The city would be mad at anything that they didn’t plan for, and you can’t really draw a singular line that communicates the breadth of options in play. Especially if you want this to be received well. When you have developers in the room, there’s a *huge* difference between going on the Queensway and going along the LSW corridor, for instance…

But that’s just my 2 cents.

Coming Soon: Dundas Subway. OL extends from Exhibition to Dundas West, then follow Dundas St all the way to Kipling. Let's ignore the fact that this just duplicates the Milton Line for that entire section.

Wouldn't more stops be better for local ridership?

I feel the issue is everyone wants the OL to be able to do everything.

I didn't mention anything regarding stops... ?

If your point is that OL can have more stops than Milton can then maybe... but I have a sneaking suspicion that MX has better ideas for that than the OL.

Considering that Milton Line does not stop between Union and Kipling, it stands to reason that a stop every ~2km like most subway stops would be valuable for the local residents and employers.

so are we getting an update on this in the next 12 months?
There's no active project I'm aware of. This is entirely speculative at this point.

The PCs killed the plans in the short term to extend the relief line north of Eglinton. It's still in their 30 to 40 year RTP. I'm sure we'll hear something one day.
