I often recall seeing things planted mid-June, which begs the question about being more nimble with the weather to ensure we have as long a season of beauty as possible with planters like this.

Yes. Surely, we know summer is coming yet every year there is some surprise about it.

Future recreation centre?

I wonder if the vision is another large scale rec centre.
 
This is how it starts. Area residents get it in their head they're getting a rec centre in the future. We can't even afford to renew what we have in the next 30 years let alone build anything new.
... and we can't seem to maintain what we have, but I suppose thinking about building new things is so much more fun than doing the hard work we should be focusing on.
