On the east side the design was done to pay homage to the towers with the insets etc.I hadn't noticed before and you can't really see it well in the pictures but there's some cool subtle texturing in the brickwork.
And one of the only masonry outfits in town. Needs more masons here!The best.

West of 109st they did do all of those things (minus the centre medians) but in typical COE fashion, in trying to appease to everyone they made a space that sucks to travel through for everyone. The bike lanes are extremely narrow, and have huge stretches without protection, and thanks to the large amounts of on street parking, there was no room to have trees on the north side of the road. Oh and the parking is in between the bike lanes and the sidewalk cause why not make it as dangerous as can be. I’d also argue that the car lanes are also still oversized.I thought it had gotten all of those things...shortly before being shut down repeatedly for a whole host of god-knows-whats, culminating in the construction of this beautiful building.
