Yeah, too many junk properties and corners like that leaving the streetscape choppy around these parts.
I would love to see the vibrant retail strips of Roncy and Bloor finally connect to the one on Dundas through the Junction for a continuous experience. What are the chances of that happening given that many retail units on Dundas across from the railway were converted to residential ages ago? Makes me sick

I think it's unlikely to see the same vibrancy in retail be carried all the way up connecting the Roncy and Junction scene. However, if the highrise redevelopments on the former Giraffe condos corner, the Freshco and Shoppers plaza, and this project move forward then those will at least contribute a greater critical mass of population to the area and create more constant pedestrian activity and hopefully demand for retail.

That seems very cheap for land right next to a subway station. Is it because of the small size? Because of the fact that the Giraffe has sat stagnant for 20 years?

I think it's due to a combination of it being a smaller plot of land, and you'd also need to acquire the corner lot Budget car rental to build anything substantial. Along with the current downturn of market conditions.

This park is great! Taken 8 May.

Email today from TPL:

Hello,

The Perth/Dupont branch will close on Saturday, June 14 at 5 pm for approximately four weeks and be relocated to a newly built facility at 305 Campbell Avenue.

During the closure, holds available for pickup will be transferred to the Annette Street branch and items can be returned to any branch. You may choose another branch location to pick up your holds during the closure. Visit our website for more information about managing your holds.

New library, new name: Junction Triangle

After consultation with the community, the new library will be renamed the Junction Triangle branch. For more information on the renaming, relocation and expansion, visit our website.

We look forward to welcoming you again!

Cool. At one time I thought of doing the same around the neighbourhood. I wonder if there are others posted, and who is doing it!

Not sure how recent but it appears like there's a bunch of soil sample barrels on site at the southwest corner of Dupont & Symington
