Jasper road still too wide
Maybe? I mean, 4 lanes for the bus traffic this manages seems not bad? 104ave and 102ave we want to be lighter traffic for bikes and LRT now, so jasper needs to carry the workload of cars, deliveries vehicles, and buses. 3 lanes with the centre as a turn would be the only smaller option, but I think that’d really cause challenges with buses pulling in and out.

The fact it's tree lined and that it's down to 2 lanes in each direction is a substantial improvement tbh.

Lot better than Yonge which has barely any tree cover, on par if not better than West Georgia in Vancouver due to lane reductions (W Georgia has like 5-6 lanes in total sometimes) and better than anything Calgary has in its core.

We need one large road to bring people into downtown from the west. It just sucks that it's also the road with the highest concentration of relatively walkable retail in Wihkwentowin. (Similar story with Whyte and Strathcona.)

You're right. I'll add René Lévesque Boulevard in Montreal as a huge downtown thoroughfare that the new Jasper Ave is an improvement on.

They forgot to add in the garbage on the renders! These pics are taken 1 week apart. I’m surprised the apartments facing this doesn’t clean up on its own doorstep.

This is the stuff that makes no sense to me. How are the main streets not swept clean of garbage by May 1st with routine maintenance after that for the summer? This looks like it hasn’t been touched once this spring. We’ve had a month of spring weather with 1 small snow in there. Let’s get to work COE staff.

I lived in Wihkwentowin last year at this time and don't mind saying I cleaned the garbage up in multiple planters between 112-114 Streets (several bags) and also reported Regency's garbage on 311, which got cleaned up.

I don't live there anymore and did my civic duty elsewhere.

They are they are, ALL summer labourers that pick up garbage in the spring/summer are all laid off for the winter and were just recalled yesterday to start litter cleanup ……plus we just had a snowfall last week….we are very slow at picking g garbage and rightfully so unfortunately…….i wish we were a 364 city like Phoenix 🐦🔥 something but we’re not
