Yah those Ottawa prices aren't going to fly.$328 one way in the summer? Nobody is paying that premium.
They might be betting on connections, but thats why they have YHU.
Announcing and launching both YHU and YOW is a bit of a head scratcher... I'm not sure if we can support both in the current climate.

Yet i can fly with Porter, Hamilton to Montreal pretty cheap..... $135. But flights to Ottawa for whatever reason are insanely expensive!

So this happened.... hopefully YHM will pick up the DR (Punta Cana), but would also be sweet to see Aruba and Barbados (although these are a bit pricier destinations)

Can one fly from Billy Bishop to Hamilton? 😆
non-revenue flights like that do actually happen ocassionally - Hamilton is Billy Bishop's emergency detour airport and Porter actually lands passengers there semi-regularly (like if they miss the airport closure time at night or in inclement weather). Those flights would have to get shuttled back to Billy Bishop on a non-revenue run afterwards.

2025 numbers are released.

329,595 passengers travelled to/from Hamilton International.

That is an annual increase of… 432 passengers…

Quite surprised the number is so low despite the Porter domestic service launching last summer.

The year prior captured Air Transat, a very brief run of Westjet flying to St John’s and Halifax, and PLAY.

Seems about right? If there were 10,000 or so available seats each week for just over half the year, that comes to something less than 300k.

Porter adds for Winter 2026-2027

Montego Bay (MBJ) - 2x weekly (new)

Cancun (CUN) - 6x weekly (increase from 3)
Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) - 7 weekly (increase from 5)
Orlando (MCO) - 7x weekly (increase from 5)

Puerto Vallarta (PVR) - 2x weekly (no change)

Porter Cuts for Winter 2026-2027

Montreal - 1x daily (down from 2x daily)

Calgary
Edmonton
Saint John’s
Winnipeg

Looks like they want to feed most domestic flights via Ottawa and Montreal — although fares are currently maxed out on connections so I’m not sure if this is the case.

This isn’t surprising given the loads on YEG/YYC this winter weren’t strong at all.

I will miss the direct Edmonton flight but atleast there is an option to connect. Funny enough, I’ll be doing a connection flight via YHU-YHM this summer.
