Well maybe I should have said 25 instead. Unless someone can explain otherwise, some of those Metra lines seem to have stops as close together as the Bloor subway.
There would be two stops between Mimico and Long Branch on some of those lines.
Sounds awful. Certainly something Toronto shouldn't strive to replicate.

Expand our subway network instead.

Sounds like Monday will be a day you should avoid the LSW

If LSW is full closed past Oakville on Monday somebody needs to let VIA Rail know, or at least the folks who maintain the website and Reservia…

Did you?

Just out of curiosity I just bounced over to the reservations site. It does not allow for any tickets for Toronto-Oakville on Monday November 3rd.

What exactly is the planned construction that requires such a large weekday shutdown?
I am guessing it's the repeated deferred plans for closures for the Blue Jays games, and they now finally want to finally finish off whatever it is they are working on (probably the bridges) before they get into the winter and weather conditions deteriorate.

We continue to cheer alongside you throughout the Blue Jays World Series. To make travelling more convenient during those games, we deferred critical bridge work that was scheduled for this weekend, Nov. 1 and 2.

A weekday closure of the LSW with a last minute change? This is going to be a DISASTER. There will be hundreds of people stranded at Oakville GO who don't even realized it's closed and the shuttle buses will be far overloaded.
