I used to read the forum to get a sense of what was going on in Edmonton, and then I read the many ridiculous insulting and cowardly posts by MacLac putting down rural people, UCP supporters and saying awful mysogynistic things about Danielle Smith. So I decided to join to call him out. What you said about the Stampede is laced with vitriol about a whole community of people, people you don't even know. Its classic bigotry, and you do it repeatedly and its not just me that has called you out on this. I don't agree with Liberal and NDP policies but I don't say vitriolic things about the people that support them. You completely insulted the great Canadian Wayne Gretzky, who did so much for Edmonton and Canada, and said horrible things about him - calling him a "traitor" because of a friendship he has and his political opinions which are his business. Calling someone a "traitor" should not be taken lightly but you did it with ease and glee when you made your cowardly remarks about Mr. Gretzky from the safely of your laptop - things that you most likely would never say to his face. You wanted to "cancel" and scrub any mention of Gretzky or his memory from Edmonton's history. You said all UCP supporters are redneck idiots who can't do simple math and compared them to Appalaichian people - so you also put down the fine people of Appalaicha as well - so typical and simple minded nonsense from someone who is probably formally "educated" and a proud urbanite. I mentioned my grandparents because they had rural roots and were hardworking, caring, patriotic and smart people - characteristics that most rural people in this country have and something you need to be reminded of - several of them where willing to put their lives on the line to defend this country which is something I'm sure you cannot even fathom. I'm not surprised you blocked me - as have many other "progressives" on this forum. I have never blocked anyone on any forum I've posted on, but people like you love to "cancel" out views you don't agree on and disparage people and communities that have different ideas than yourself. It's ironic you think you are a "progressive" and tolerant person because actually you are the opposite. Be kind my "progressive" friend - I hope one day you find peace.
