Yes, I would rather see something nice and decent in that size range actually go ahead than a pipe dream that doesn't seem to be happening.

Agreed. It doesn't even make sense financially to build something that tall on that footprint at that location. 25-40 would be better for the people investing money to build it.

Aldritt doesn't move on their projects in a speedy manner so like @NicolBolas I'll probably be in the grave too before anything happens here.

I'm giving it another 3 years or so. I believe that's when the sunset clause kicks in. I'm hoping a more competent developer takes over.

I believe that's an unfair assessment. Ultimately, this is a market demand and return on investment issue. There is (obviously) no pent up demand for people wanting to live at the particular location, despite the growth of the city's population etc.

Maybe you should be asking why no one wants to live there and push to see changes to those variables, which are the reasons for the lack of that private sector investment to flow in.

The ebb and flow of possibilities will continue; if I were Alldritt I would wait another year to see where the economy settles vis-a-vis Edmonton.
