One can always ask for more!Couldn't have asked for much more![]()
Why? Maybe because they take more pride in what they are doing and have more interest in improving things than some of our local officials do.Some water would be fantastic but it's unlikely without any interest from City Hall. A water feature was too much for City Hall at Warehouse Park and Anne Stevenson had more important things to do than attend the sod turning of Phase 1 at Stationlands. Do nothing Stevenson is reportedly running for re-election and without any public interest or involvement at Stationlands, why would a developer do any more than they absolutely had to too? Perhaps I'm being to critical of Stevenson because she may have missed the sod turning because she was at her doctor's office getting her nose put back in joint.
The City invested in the pedway, to which Stevenson was opposed, but it’s water under the bridge now. Councillors aren’t magicians who have money for a private company’s amenities—as nice and as much of a public benefit as they are.
So Stevenson skipped the sod turning because her nose was out of joint! Now she's running for re-election and probably hasn't changed her views by much. Stevenson should be supporting and have an interest in development in her ward instead of being an obstructionist. The City invested in the pedway, to which Stevenson was opposed, but it’s water under the bridge now. Agreed, her proposal was a rookie mistake when she started and she lost valuable political capital with it. Nice person but we need better for downtown/WikhSo Stevenson skipped the sod turning because her nose was out of joint! A total rookie mistake by Stevenson. Who does she think she is? Councilors need to advocate and support development for their own wards because if they don't nobody else is going to. Stationlands is a major project and Stevenson should be doing everything she can to advance opportunity and economic development for her ward. It's not like her ward doesn't need it.Agreed, her proposal was a rookie mistake when she started and she lost valuable political capital with it. Nice person but we need better for downtown/Wikh
Peep what I posted on the commuter and regional rail threadThis would be an excellent spot for a train station with direct access to the downtown pedway system/LRT network.
The first phase had two large exterior water features along the 101 street edge as well as an infinity edge feature in the lobby. Some water would be fantastic but it's unlikely without any interest from City Hall….
Not that I’m aware of (not that I’m aware of everything any more).Did Qualico drain the water from those fountains permanently? Can't recall that I've seen them at all this year...
