I thought this building would have been demolished by now. But in typical Edmonton fashion it's taking it's own sweet time for whatever reason.

Unless it's a lot that is extremely prominent, then they tear the building down asap then leave it empty for years.

Asbestos abatement quotes were higher than expected so Procura is shopping around for a lower price for abatement work. Sounds like they want to get that as well as the demolition done asap so they can start construction of the new building in the summer.

This project will happen, construction likely early next year or spring (demolition and site prep is complex and will take some time).

Lots of complaints and emergency services having to deal with this building. Sooner construction starts the better.

I wish they would just tear down the darn thing ASAP. I am normally not a fan of empty lots, but in this case it would probably be better.
