Except it’s not just the heat pump is it? It’s the ducting and the power requirements etc. that comes along with it.
There is no ducting requirement for Daikin VRV IV -- again, check it out. From a power requirement the system is extremely efficient. Of course in any upgrade there are plenty of items on a wish list. Everybody knows that. i am just saying that it is doable.

And then you’ll probably want elevators.

Which will require an emergency generator.

Which will probably require a full electrical upgrade.

And sprinklers.

And in-suite laundry which means new plumbing stacks…
Those are all things (as developer) that I would want. I would spec an LSM-propelled elevator (no machine room requirement and on a "going down" cycle would recoup some of the power needed for "going up"); there are great battery storage systems that could be placed in out-of-the-way locations and that would then store enough juice to provide power over a week or 10-days -- i.e. no old-school emergency generator; electrical upgrade is a given -- a solar roof installation could also be fashioned in such a way as to provide a roof-top garden shelter. Solar would not manage electrical requirements for the entire project but it could be specially designed along with the battery system to operate the elevator sustainably. Dry-stack sprinklers could be of the drop-down head variety so that they are not visually offensive. And new Plumbing stacks? -- heck, I would be looking at completely reconfigured floors with new kitchens, new bathrooms, open-plan living spaces -- a 100% interior makeover with soundproof floors and soundproof demising walls. On a project like this there is no half-way solution. This could be the loftiest of loft solutions -- maybe reducing occupancy to 6 high-end luxury condos circling the $2.5-million+ per unit resale figure. Again, quiet street with a strong pedestrian appeal and a river valley view to die for.

Hello I hope all is well. As I mentioned some weeks ago our condo was bought by a large rental company and will be converted to apartments. As such I’ve been looking for a new condo to live in in Wikwentowin. I have placed offers on eight places at or above asking and have been out bid each time. The real estate agent advises that some of these places received multiple offers and some within two or three days of going on the market. I’m not sure what’s going on but it seems the condo market is quite robust these days based on what I am experiencing.

Here's hoping, but prices are still ~20-30% off pre-COVID so it's basically dollar store values.
