I'd say it is down to Period by Period wins tonight.

Get out early again, shut that crowd up and then keep it going.

I do think that we will need 4-5 to win tonight and it will be closer and harder hitting/checking.

5-3 Edmonton

We've got this.

GO OILERS GO!

That wasn’t at all how I expected the series to go. 🙁
As frustrating as it is, we need to look back and consider the injuries combined with the star players playing a lot of hockey over the past 3 years. Two trips to the cup, the Olympics. All that hockey caught up with them this season and they weren’t their usual selves this year.

It’s an off year, now they can get some good rest this summer and be ready for next season.

Plus lots of roster turnover since that first cup finals appearance, and poor coaching that didn't allow the depth to develop experience and chemistry. Let's make sure Kapanen and the Chicago boys get extended (and Ingram, but for a reasonable price), let Rico and maybe Janmark walk, find a way to deal with the Jarry contract, and refresh the coaching staff (esp. PK).

So Connor McDavid tallied one goal and five assists for this round of the playoffs. With that said I don't think he made any significant impact to help the Oilers at all. Without a doubt he is the most talented player out there right now but he still has to prove that despite teams focusing on him in the playoffs if he can make a tangible difference to finally lead the Oilers to winning the Stanley Cup.

Too many key injuries (basically all of our centres were playing injured), less-than-mid goaltending, the worst PK I've ever seen, and a coach who seemingly had no line-matching plan and pretty much just rolled them. Disappointing season all around, but the Oilers' window is still open. I don't know what they'll do, but I do think that A) Knoblauch takes the fall and is fired—They'll give Bowman this opportunity to pick his coach. And B) They find someone to take Nurse. Of the bad contracts, I think this is the one they'll be able to move.

This playoff year wasn't meant to be. Injuries played a part, McDavid didn't look like typical McDavid, and other players didn't seem to have the fire. Perhaps it was too many playoff games. Teams like Utah, Anaheim and Minnesota having been looking fresh and have lots of zip.

Podkolzin was a standout. Hope he's with us for a while.
Impressed with Kapanen, too, in the playoffs.

Disappointing season overall. We barely even made it in to playoffs in weak division and had trouble winning more than 2 games in a row all year - when players were healthy.

I didn't even recognize all the players for a good part of the year.

I also feel a lot of other teams in the league got a lot better. Canadiens future looks very bright even if they lose to TB.
