I think the Oilers need to make some lineup changes (add Jeff Skinner, Jones and Stecher) for Game 4.

Frederic has been disappointing overall.

Stetcher may be needed here to bring some more stability, but NONE of that matters if we do not have discipline and a team effort.

Last night literally looked like 18 guys who have never played together.

Yeah, it was a weird game. They were fine until the ref got in Klingberg's way, directly leading to the 3-1 goal. Things seemed to unravel from there, but I don't think we'll see a game like that again in this series. These games happen. If you remember, the Oilers won a game 8-1 in the final last year.

My biggest concern is Skinner. He's been mostly okay in these first three games, but there have been signs of him fading again, including the OT goal in game 2 (despite it being scored on a breakaway) and a couple last night. We know he's streaky, and he might need another reset. Knob should seriously consider starting Pickard in game 4.

Yup, odd game indeed and a series of unfortunate events.

Skinner has to be your guy, but maybe let's play some defence and not give up those 3-2s and 2-1s, let alone breakaways in the numbers we are seeing.

Plus, pretty hard to win a game with only 1 early goal.

Replace Stuart Skinner and John Klingberg with Calvin Pickard and Troy Stecher please and thank you.

You definitely go with Pickard, he's the better goaltender moving left to right and the entire strategy of the Panthers has been to pressure guys into the corner and open up cross-seam passes.

There doesn't seem to be a solution for their style of play as they've been doing this all Playoffs long. You need a quick goalie that can move laterally and can fight through scrambles.

I'm not a Skinner hater, I want to see him succeed, but he does rely on his size and positioning more than his speed and unless we can miraculously solve the Panther's offence with some new defensive strategy, it'll continue to hurt the team.

I heard Frederic is playing injured so that doesn't help.

I have to say, Bennett is a force and been most impactful player so far.

And Marchand added to their lineup was a significant pickup - proving again to be big time players those two.

Oilers have been a very resilient bunch (proven in last year's final). Will be an interesting game 4.

Nurse and Stetcher were excellent together earlier in the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if they switch him in for Klingberg who has struggled with the Panthers aggressive style of forecheck. I'd also like to see Kulak playing his natural side again, but I"m not really sure how they can make that work. I guess they could also go 11-7 and get 97 and 29 rotating through winger pairs a little more while also opening up more options on D.

What I would do:

Stetcher > Klingberg
Skinner > Frederic

I think they'll only do the first one, though.

There was a rumor that Fredric was close to signing an extension here too. I think I saw it a few days ago.
