I thinks it's pretty cool that someone of McD's profile and reputation can relatively freely partake in public/publicly accessible activities like this.
Hopefully the respect and courtesy that allows for that is something Edmonton never loses but becomes something we learn to admire of ourselves. I used to think much the same thing when I would see Ann McClellan doing her own grocery shopping at the downtown Save On Foods store.

Sad about Leon getting sidelined with injury again.
As I was pondering what this would mean for Edmonton's fortunes in the lead-up to the playoffs I went through some of my old video clips of Oilers and I came across Wayne Gretzky's tribute to Dave "Cement Truck" Semenko. Dave Semenko and Dave Hunter were regulars at my "Roman Pub" in South Edmonton back in the early '80s and I spent many an evening chatting with "Semenk" about hockey, Edmonton, and various other subjects. Wayne's tribute to Dave was particularly moving and underscored his wry sense of humor. Some old-timers will enjoy this tribute...
