There is literally an infinite number of ways to improve this... these guys have obviously thought of Edmonton as an outpost not worthy of any kind of effort. Maybe we should send Edmonton's waste to their town and see how they like it. Edmonton is partly to blame by normalizing some of the 6-storey crap that is being shoveled to the locals as quality projects... locals are beginning to wise up.

Wow, that's a big downgrade. TBH, I wouldn't even mind the downgrade of the scale if the design and especially the materials were better. I mean, they could have taken away the towers and left the podium and it would have been way better.
Yes, the new proposal is crap. If they are going to make this ... really just don't bother.

The fact that they have offices in Kelowna, Calgary and Grande Prairie but not in Edmonton tells us all we need to know.

I would literally take an unsanctioned gravel parking lot with potholes the size of grizzly bears than this project. And nothing anybody can say would ever change my mind. Garbage like this proposal cannot be permitted to exist, even in feverish nightmares.

And those trees in the renderings? How many decades will those take to grow? C'mon now.

Nothing about this is acceptable. Really unbelievable that this is even proposed, what will be worse is when some sort of bad 'improved' version of it starts construction. Do not look at the first page of this thread at what could have been. The prospects for this site really went from downtown Toronto to Nisku truckstop.
This design would be unacceptable in the suburbs, much less the downtown of a city the size of Edmonton. Shame
SCATHING 😭 but accurate.

These renderings show a product that, if seen to execution, will embody all of the worst design principles of Edmonton's current development scene; random blocky grey patterns failing to break up blank walls between tiny punched-in windows. I didn't have much faith based on the website, but this is a really offensive proposal, to be honest.

This location and Edmonton as a whole deserves higher quality architecture and urban design. I'd hate to see the city I've grown up in and that I love get cheapened by this.
