Lolz.. Stop trying to make the quarters happen. That part of town is at least two more rebrands away from seeing any serious development action, there's still a decade or two of infill to be done in far more desirable central areas.

Like this site! The tower is really starting to get noticeable in the neighborhood now, and the full 3 tower complex full of people is exactly what struggling post-covid whyte retail needs.

Now, when does hat in the warehouse district start??

Lol there already is a Hat in the Quarters that they’re still aggressively trying to rent out. I don’t think they’re going back there anytime soon.
Wait what?! "Aggressively trying to rent out after what?" 8 years ago that building opened.....

I will applaud someone who puts three more Hats in the Quarters ! The difference is people will actually want to live on Whyte Ave right now...
Yes, people actually do want to live in this area, probably the biggest limitation is not too much has been built around here and a lot of the buildings are getting older.

This is nice and new and will help extend the commercial/residential area from being a narrow strip of a block or so into a two or three block area.

Wasn't Hat already fully close to leasing out already? Even on Rentfaster there doesn't seem to be many units available.
I actually don’t know, I’m just going off of the big “now renting” banners that were still up on the building when I drove by last week

Bad pic. But I was surprised how visible this was from Strathcona High School

Hopefully this project puts some life back into Whyte Avenue.

After visiting Nashville, Whyte Avenue could very much replicate Broadway's appeal.
It’s a very Edmonton thing to complain about how bad the bar/club/nightlife scene is in the city while also almost never going to any of the great establishments we have and supporting the scene so it can grow.

Nashville is a bit of an entertainment destination for the US and beyond. While it could be an inspiration for things here, and I hope it is, I don't know if we can expect or want to get to that level of activity.

The addition of people nearby in this project and others in the area will probably help improve Whyte Ave, so it just doesn't rely on the young University and suburban crowd.

Not sure what's going on with Nashville, but my 20 year old is hankering to go there with a group as her first trip without mom/dad. Maybe it's a TikTok thing?
