Good. Let them all die.
Agreed. But the province needs to relatively quickly set up an adequate empties returns program. I know it's been discussed before here. It's just frustrating that Ford et al. seem to think they don't need to do anything to force/support this

If you sell items which have a deposit then you should be obligated to return the deposits to customers who return the items.

1. I know we don’t want this to become the recycling thread, BUT, why not just stop doing deposits and returns altogether. Blue bin for all.

2. The distillery of all places would seem like a place rife with craft beers and a setup for dealing with returns, but I gather by turning it into a tourist destination they really don’t have a physical setup for storage or transport.

I mean… the rack house is right there…

The deposit system is there to encourage the return of recyclable articles. In Quebec. unlike here, there are deposits on soft drink cans (in addition to alcoholic ones). There you seldom see ANY drink cans on the street because people pick them up for the $$; here soft drink cans are commonly seen lying on the street. If everyone was 'perfect' then deposits would not be necessary, unfortunately they/we are not.
