Sorry to keep harping on this... It struck me how diligently the new yet-unopened section is being plowed, compared to the well-used section! There is no obvious reason why this is enduring (to me anyway) - looking south / looking north from Wallace bridge

No doubt someone was awarded a plowing contract so plowing is being done! :->

A friend spoke to the people cleaning the path behind the fence. They said they are contracted by Metrolinx and that it's up to the city to open the fence. That (fence bit) sounds a bit suspicious, but I thought I'd pass that along

It makes me really angry. Especially since (prior to 2023 with the interminable detour) the railpath was one of the only consistently cleared/plowed/salted walking and cycling paths we had in the west end.

A question: I was walking south on Dufferin and noticed for the first time that there is a walking/biking path on the north side of the bridge. Is this newish? Done when park on the west done? Seems like forward thinking.

On Google Maps streetview looks like it has been around 2017, but I'm not sure when it actually opened for use.

If memory serves the path went in when they eliminated the Dufferin jog and extended the rail bridge; the park space on either side went in as part of the adjacent developments. I don't know if it was ever formally "opened" or if the fences just fell down while we wait forever for Metrolinx to build the long-threatened southern extension of the Railpath.

Are there any updates on this? I haven't heard anything after all the news about the inflated price came out a while ago. Did they halt construction to look into the price?

Every day when I walk the northern stump of the Railpath I wonder the same thing! I did actually see people working on it (the rail part) today though - not sure what they were doing but there were workers present which hasn't usually been the case.

The Randolph underpass is being puttered at in typical Metrolinx hobby farm fashion..... they do a little work on it once in a while, but there is clearly no sense of urgency. They erected the steelwork, but whatever trade is to carry on from there has yet to arrive.
The work they are doing on the surface is getting other things done, but until people are able to reach the platform from Randolph, there will be no restoration of the railpath.

I have to say, the Bloor GO station lower concourse is probably the dingiest on the network.... dull grey paint and concrete, walls already scuffed and chipped, very little cleaning evident, a perpetual odour of weed. No sense of pride whatsoever. Even the station ambassadors stay upstairs. Just wait until all the subway passengers begin trooping through it.
