Cidex seems to have run out of money some time ago…That said, if any project of theirs is going to break ground in the future it will be this one…
Cidex has lots of money behind them.

Assuming they are going office conversion as opposed to new build for lower capital injection. Might be wrong. They do own boatloads of surface parking lots for alleged redevelopment - Cidex has options.
From what I’ve heard they’re going to do conversions while the city of Calgary has their subsidy. After that ends the plan is to go back to new developments. Which ones they would do I have no idea, but that’s the plan apparently.

Despite what people think of Cidex’s end product, they’re a well run outfit. They’ve resisted the temptation to add more people and take on more projects.

I think sometimes this forum falls prey to groupthink. Is Cidex perfect? No, but looking at the new builds. Hat@14, the one on 7th Ave st st the Kerby LRT, the EV hat, and WVTs I would say they are middle of the pack. Those examples are better than Vetro and Sasso, Nuera and the Point of View towers and no worse than Union Square or Strategic’s Upten, or Sunalta Heights.
I like the tower portion of WVTs, and IMO they’re better than the average, the podium sucks unfortunately.
The Hat @ 9th is one of the better conversions. Other conversions less so, but par for the course when it comes to conversions.

I wouldn't take this forum so seriously, design preferences are subjective, and people like nice things to look at but some can't agree on what they think is nice. I enjoy hearing others perspectives. In reality most of these places are probably great places to live even the ones that I jokingly called a toilet. Plus who cares how often do you actually look at where you live you mostly look out of where you live.
