This tower is really flying. Been awhile since we've seen anything this height go up.

They own the lot between this and Ceasar's right? Down the road could be a phase two.

Yes, correct. The sales pitch for why it was to be made a surface parking lot is because it will allow for the eventual redevelopment of Ceasars, by combining Ceasars with this surface lot, there will be enough tower separation to allow another building on the block.

Can’t lie. Ceasars is a Calgary icon (Ceasar drink invented there). Need to protect some institutions!

That was a previous, larger design. You can see the renderings for it in the link. They just haven't updated their website apparently.

A developer has the ability to get a 35 storey tower approved and built but apparently can't update their website.

I'm actually happy they're building something less prominent than the original design considering their penchant for mustard coloured stucco and navy blue spandrel. That original design would have permanently dated / tainted the skyline with 2008 Pomo.
