Personally, I like the spandrel on this one, but for those who don’t, you can ease the pain by taking a look at the building to the left in Alex‘s last photo.

I don’t understand the hate for the glass. IMO it’s very solid.

I think the hate is mostly for the blue spandrel.

I'm fine with the glass and/or spandrel. Just glad we are getting a downtown highrise after a pretty long dry spell.

I at least appreciate that there's no contrasting colours like Lacaille's other projects that make the blue spandrel pop and look worse. At lease it blends in and melts into the background.

I think it's fine. Window wall is a premium product relative to a lot the other tower envelope systems (Uni District, Francesco's, Nest) currently being built.

The spandrel is fine... but the mullions should be colour-matched to the spandrel IMO. Right now, the light gray contrasts too much with the darker blue --- even a darker shade of gray would match better.

Indeed. I was actually thinking of that blue-porta-pottie-on-the-park when I mentioned the ugliness of the blue spandrel. In this case perhaps the metallic mullions aid the design?
