I've been meaning to go there for a date night or something. Expensive, but reportedly both fun and delicious. Maybe with our Ford bucks.

I used to be more interested in these trendy but pricey small plate places like Donna's, Seoul Shakers and the ones you see all over Dundas/Queen/Ossington, back in my 20s. But with inflation, cost of living increases, saving for a wedding and honeymoon later this year, and having a fiancee that finds joy in searching for deals, I've been relegated to trying to find more value in food mostly up in the boroughs and boonies. 🥲

Until recently there was a high concentration of vintage clothing shops on Bloor between Lansdowne and Dufferin, but I noticed that at least a couple of them have closed, likely due to over saturation.

Could be the oversaturation. But also can't rule out the penchant of landlords trying to out price small-time indie retail tenants to draw in bigger leases 😠

I love going to the burbs in search of food, but we're somewhat constrained with a five year old's palate right now (fortunately he loves dumplings and tacos, so we have good options). And when you leave him at home, paying for a babysitter makes going out in your neighbourhood a whole lot more attractive.

Great news as Solkat Café at Lansdowne/Bloor is reopening on on the weekends starting 31 January!

I saw one of the boarded up used clothing shops is now Marit Stiles' campaign office. Near Dovercourt.

Northeast side of Landsdowne/Bloor beside momo shop. Excellent! I recommend the ricotta pancakes.

Something new going on here just in time for the new office building on Wade occupying. 17 April.

Well, it's in my stomping grounds too, and I want plenty of glass (looks like it has it!) and clean lines. A window counter looking out on Bloor St would be heaven for me on a sunny winter morning.
