Why did they remove the mural??? It would have at least added a bit of colour to this utter disappointment.
I wonder if the mural removal was a directive from the signage people at the city. From recent project experience, if a mural has a business's logo, they treat it like a sign or billboard. If it's a mural without it, it's art, and their rules don't apply. I, like all of you, am puzzled as to whether the parking lot was approved by the city.

I do not see any permits and a reminder that it's a DC1 so very specific in regulation/zone. Interestingly though, there was an uncompleted application to go from DC1 back to CMU.

I believe it would make sense for most DC's to expire after a time and revert to a standard zone, which is what anyone doing anything with this lot would need to do anyways. DC's are less needed than in the past anyways.

I wrote (yet another) email to Anne Stevenson about this parking lot and (as usual) have yet to hear back (if at all). I am going to start cc'ing Ashley Salvador, Aaron Paquette, Andrew Knack, and Michael Janz because this is getting ridiculous. I was such a champion for Anne and now I'm left scratching my head.

That's a good idea! She hasn't been responding to my emails either, funny enough, when I started cc-ing all the others you mentioned, they responded WAY faster, but at the end their responses were "... we'll leave it to Anne for her final notes" and those "notes" never arrived ☹️
I'm looking forward to seeing what other candidates will raise their hand this election that could be a good fit for O-day’min

Just a guess, but with Westrich developing the lot north of Energy Square and Warehouse Park development, AHS has lost it's current parking lots and is looking for others, may have leased this site.

If that were true, then just because some tenant is cheap-@ss and doesn't reside in a building with on-site UG parking, doesn't mean they should inflict another gravel parking lot on the city. That would just make them a poor neighbour.

The idea that it's an employer's responsibility to find parking for its employees in this situation is insane. Do they also pay for transit passes for people who don't drive?

I know several employees who do provide transit passes for employees who choose not to use company parking for personal vehicles. For those who don’t need their car during the day, it’s a nice perk as it’s good for more than commuting. When combined with “pool cars” For employees who only occasionally need to visit a site or a client office that isn’t transit accessible, it can be a pretty cost effective option.

Pretty sure AHS offers parking as a management perk, albeit it's a taxable benefit.

The signage seems to indicate paid public parking. Is AHS or whatever they're called now making their employees pay for parking daily or hourly?

The company I work for provides a monthly allowance - can be used for monthly transit pass or to cover some parking fees, to buy a bike - as some examples.
